History
In the early years of the 20th century, suffragists movements were popping in many countries. So, in 1910, a German revolutionary Clara Zetkin proposed a date to honor working women at the International Women’s Conference. As the years went by, women from other nations and countries started to celebrate women’s day by protesting for equal rights. It first began with socialist and communist countries but by 1967 the moviment was adopted by the entire feminist movement.

Above is the statue of Millicent Fawcet, an English political leader, writer, activist and feminist icon. She was responsible for leading the largest women’s right organization at the time, the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies. Besides, she also helped other women fight for their rights and held her position for more than twenty years.
