Summer Olympics 2021: Top 5 Movies You Can't Miss!

Summer Olympics is coming. And we are very excited. This year, the 2021 Olympics Game will happen in Tokyo. And, because of the pandemic, things will be a little different. But one thing’s for sure: Summer Olympics are always memorable!

Race (2016)

Race is an amazing 2016 movie directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. Starting Stephan James, Race tells the story of Jesse Owens, an African American athlete that participated in the 1936 Olympic Game in Berlim. Jesse Owens won five gold medals, surpassing preconceptions and becoming a legend!

Chariots of Fire (1981)

Directed by Hugh Hudson, this historical drama takes place in Paris during the 1924 Olympics. Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams colleague runners with different backgrounds who decided to represent England in the Olympics. Together, they will suppress personal challenges and historical differences. Above all, this movie is about friendship and mutual respect!

Visions of Eight (1973)

Visions of Eight is a 1973 documentary that focuses on the terrorist attacks that occured in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. This tragic attack committed by a terrorist group resulted in the death of twelve people, including athletes, trainers, and one police officer.

The Gabby Douglas Story (2014)

Directed by Gregg Champion, The Gabby Douglas Story is a biographical movie that tells Gabby Douglas’s life. Gabby was the first African American gymnastics to win two gold medals in the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Icarus (2017)

Icarus is a movie documentary directed and written by Bryan Fogel e Mark Monroe. Released in 2017, this movie tells the story of Fogel, an amateur cyclist that gets involved in a doping scandal. This Oscar-winning shows us the dopping universe and an ugly image of sports.
